Colorado Carry Conceal Permits
(CCP/CCW)

At the moment we only offer training for carry conceal permits in the State of Colorado, we will be expanding our training offerings to other states soon.

Colorado Carry Conceal Requirements

A permit to carry a concealed weapon may be obtained through the Sheriff of the county in which you live. Under Colorado Law you must meet certain requirements to qualify for the permit. [C.R.S. 18-12-203]. 

To apply at the Sherriff's Office you must meet the following requirements;

  • Be 21 years of age or older at the time of the application

  • Provide a valid Colorado Driver's License or Colorado ID or a Military ID and PCS orders

  • Submit proof of firearms training within the last ten years (This is where we can help)

  • Successfully complete a background investigation (This is part of your application with the Sherriff)

What do we teach on our Carry Conceal courses?

We assume that ALL customers taking this course are new to firearms, we are unable to give credit for previous experience or training. The course is a minimum of three hours with as much time as you need after that for additional questions. There is not a live fire requirement for Colorado so please do not bring firearms or ammunition to this course. If you would like some live fire training please book some range training with one of our instructors  here. 

 

On our Carry Conceal courses we cover;

  • Basics of Firearms Safety, Handling and Storage

  • Explanations of the different types of handgun and their operation

  • Different types of ammunition and their application

  • Basics of shooting (handgun grip, aiming and standing positions)

  • Storing and Cleaning Handguns

  • Selecting a firearm for Every Day Carry (EDC)

  • Carry Conceal Basics (Holster positions, drawing a gun, and different methods of EDC)

  • Holster Selection

  • General Firearm and Carry Conceal Laws

  • The aftermath and  potential consequences of using deadly force in self defense.

  • How to apply for your Carry Conceal Permit 

  • Any other questions that come up during the class.

The class is informal and no previous experience is required. As a group we will be handling demonstration firearms (blue guns) and safe and empty firearms. Each member of the class will be shown how to safely handle a selection of handguns. No live ammunition will be loaded into firearms at any time, Any practice loading / unloading of firearms will be done with snap caps / dummy rounds.

At the end of the course you will be issued a certificate to show you have completed a course that meets the requirements of  [C.R.S. 18-12-203] H VI, along with a copy of the permit application form for you local Sherriff's Office for you to take home with you..
